WoW! Yesterday was a heart wrenching day for me.

I want to start off with reminding you that there is some important events going on over the next couple of weeks and I ask you to go to the events page and go over the events that may enrich your life.

Today is music day and we get together and listen to a lot of new music.

Had a wonderful weekend with our God blessing us with fantastic weekend.

Sorry I didn't get a chance to blog with your yesterday...crazy day.

This weekend is the WinterJam 09 in Birmingham...this is a blessing ready to happen, Toby Mac, Brandon Heath, Francesca Battistelli, PureNRG and more.

Here it is Friday...seems that this week just flew by.

Well, today is my birthday and it's funny how it feels the same as the other days of the year.  I enjoyed the weekend with by son and daughter in law at the Tennessee vs. Auburn women's basketball game.  Now that was fun and a great memory since it's the only time in the history of Beard Eaves Memorial Coliseum that the place was packed out for an Auburn Event.  Just me and 12,000 of my closest friends. 

Yesterday during halftime I took the time to reflect upon special moments, like being saved and baptised.  These are moments that the Lord has for us to bring us closer to him.  Remember how your heart hurt for Jesus at those special moments. 

Yesterday, Larry Stevens game me a new bible, now thats another special moment in my life.

May the Lord be invited into your heart and special moments today.

Ahh, Friday, I love the weekend. 

There is an opportunity for you to grow this weekend.  Code Blue is in Wesley Hall at Frazer UMC this Sunday.  The Church got the word for the event late and they have had to scramble to get it all together and they have done a wonderful job.  Phil Easter was on the air with Larry Stevens yesterday and they did a great job explaining the event, but if you didn't catch it, go to the Frazer Web Site  www.frazerumc.org and click on the Code Blue icon to get all of the information needed.

Might be a little wet this weekend but the temperatures are going to be warmer for a couple of days.  A nice vacation from the cold of the last few weeks.  Be well and enjoy the family.  Worshiping together is the ultimate in family.

The weather service tells us this morning is the last below freezing for a few days, but a good chance of rain for the weekend.  I know I'm going to get out for some  outdoor activities.  Walks over at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival with the dogs I know is on the agenda.

A quote by Samuel Rutherford is in my thoughts today, "Our Little time of suffering is not worthy of our first night's welcome home to Heaven."  I know there is a sermon in there somewhere.  But think about it, it is true, the stuff we go though at work and sometimes with our friends is nothing compared to the elation of just a few minutes with our God.   So when you think " I've had enough", be strong.  God is waiting to greet you with more love than you can imagine.

Lord I pray for the direction of our country and the new leadership.  I pray you touch President Obama's  mind and heart so he may glorify your name and you will be glad in it. 

My heart is full this morning as we as a nation have hope in the direction of our new President.  I so enjoyed the prayer of Rick Warren of Saddleback Church who mentioned Jesus in four different languages.  Leading up to the inauguration it seemed that a few were getting the tv and radio time on the secular media to tell the world that they would be offended if the name of Jesus was mentioned.  Well how about the many more that would be offended if our saviors name were not mentioned.  As Christians it is our responsibility to let the world know how we feel about our savior, Jesus Christ.

Go online today to  www.frazerumc.org  and register for the Blue Code event coming January 25, 2009.  This is a very important event to give us the tools to to stand strong in our faith in an anything goes society.  Materials and space is limited so it is very important that you register early so you can get a seat.  I understand that it is filling fast.  There is a lot of information on the website.  Share this information with everyone you know, spread the word.

Boy was it cold this morning,  I hope your day is secure in knowing that your savior is in control and his love and grace are with you all day.   Be Kind.

My thoughts are with the idea of being meek.  I can remember just a few years when I was younger.  I had a very harsh temper and would not hesitate to get into a persons face in a heartbeat.  Somewhere along the road of life I found out that being meek was not being weak but it meant being strong enough to walk away from people who didn't know that it was harder for me to walk away that it was for them to throw insults.  Paul in 2 Timothy 2, 22   Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. 23 Don't have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels. 24 And the Lord's servant must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. 25 Those who oppose him he must gently instruct, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, 26 and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.

I'm thinking about the homeless and animals.  The next couple of days are really going to be cold.   Dress in layers, wear a hat,  gloves, keep feet warm,  keep hydraded.    And call and check on elderly persons that you know and find a warm place for your animals.

I hope you all have a blessed day and take the time to talk to our God.  This morning was traffic hectic.  Taylor Road being the biggest problem.  Did you get caught in the backup?  Most calls were about the pilot that bailed this morning.  My thoughts are with him, sometimes going through a critical problem is more than just trying to get out of it.  I believe that God allows these problems in our lives to grow us and to draw him near.  My only hope for him is that he gets it.

Lots of Sun today and lots of cold tonight.  Bundle up.
